Mint condition

Rains mend the parched earth
and rally the wizened leaves,
now green and as crisp
as the early morning air,
soon to be warmed by the sun.

Via #TankaTuesday

Renew: mend, rally
Fresh: mint, crisp

I’ve now written more poems about desert rain than the actual number of times I’ve witnessed precipitation here. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder!

  1. Ha, Ha! I was just commenting to Willow who lives in the U.K. that we had little snow this year. The humidity on Sunday was 7% here in the Springs. I couldn’t believe it! Dry is the operative word. 😀 I’m looking forward to your Tanka coming true!! ❤
