You know how the desert sun
looks in the cartoons
as the old prospector drags
his desiccated carcass to the last
watering-hole only to find
a skeleton wallowing in poison…
Well, forget all that. My desert
sun wears a crown of white
blossoms and a ring of rainbows,
defying the need for rain.
I took these photos in my back yard in Tempe yesterday.
