Eggs, rated

Minus one star for easy peasy over easy
yolk puddled in slimy, half-cooked white;
add ketchup for a tangerine dream
on a vintage turquoise plate, sun rays
lighting up the hearthstone. My ideal
five star breakfast is eggless, thanks.

Speaking of eggs, my daughter uses them in her art. See more here.

  1. I’m with you. I’d just as soon skip the eggs at breakfast. Your poem made me think of my dad who actually preferred his eggs sunny side up (yuck!), but that puddle made me picture his plate of eggs.

    You get five out of five eggs for this wonderful poem, and you don’t have to eat a one of them. Use them to make a cake or some cookies.
