Weekly art prompt – Sunny

Here is my first prompt in a weekly series based on the art of my husband Alvaro Ibañez. There are many ways to approach ekphrastic writing, which is simply a description of a work of art.

Look around. Are you sitting in a chilly room with a window overlooking a snowy landscape? Now look at this painting. Allow yourself to be transported into the landscape or the mind of the artist. Where does this take you? Please share your writing in the comments.

You can see more of Alvaro’s art on the “Surreal Arizona” page.

Alvaro Ibanez $2000 oil on canvas 48 x 60

Here is the view from my window today.

Snowy sheets cover
trees and field fields in white, whisper
spring is still asleep
