Spring Kyrie

Orange you glad the winter’s gone,
the birds are trilling in the dawn
and peepers join in evening song
when spring bursts forth and brings rebirth?

The poison ivy only sleeps;
a green-scummed puddle slowly steeps
mosquito larvae in the deeps
when spring bursts forth and brings rebirth,

Black widows drowsing in the lawn
while ticks are hiding on a fawn
with sun’s warm glow to spur them on
when spring bursts forth and brings rebirth.

Buds are opening on the trees,
daffodils ready for the bees;
I’m bearing tissue lest I sneeze
when spring bursts forth and brings rebirth.

This kyrielle was inspired by a #paintchip prompt. Kyrie means “Lord have mercy.”
