Weeping cherry

It stands in an uncultivated part of the plot, its brief beauty blazing for the eyes of birds, foxes, neighbors at their mailboxes. It serves no other purpose. Nothing important or beautiful grows in its shade. Naturally, it’s my favorite tree.

The lonely beauty
laments fruit she never bore:
a weeping cherry.

  1. Hi, Denise. A beautiful haibun, but I think you meant this for Frank’s cherry blossoms prompt yesterday. Once you’ve linked up on that one, I’ll remove the link for today’s laundry prompt. Thanks. 🙂
