As winter hangs its laundry,
geese in a field trumpet retreat.
March unfurls a banner
and daffodils hoist their colors,
promising parades, cascades
of wisteria, johnny jump-ups,
joyful jonquils, blue flags
and dandelions, rampant dragon
snapping in the wind.
